Arrow Strikes North Strabane Home

NORTH STRABANE (KDKA) --- North Strabane Police are investigating an incident involving an arrow that struck a home on Friday.

The incident happened on the 600-block of Deer Watch Court in the Meadowbrook Development.

"It came through the trees and it was the loudest noise you ever heard," Jill Spear said.

Police say the arrow was triggered by a compound bow, which came through a wall on the second floor of the home.

No one was hurt, but Spear says her young daughter was traumatized. Police estimate the arrow traveled about 500 feet, but her house is not surrounded by woods.

"It's a very heavily populated area, a lot of kids," Spear said. "My girlfriend next door, my daughter – her kids and my daughter play out here all the time. It's a very safe neighborhood. It was just so shocking."

Spear does not believe her home was targeted, but she has a message for the person who shot the arrow.

"I don't know who it was, but everybody out there watching, please don't shoot arrows in neighborhoods. Shoot them safely in the woods where you're allowed to be."

Police think careless teenagers are behind it. They may not realize how far the arrows can travel and the amount of damage they can cause.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Strabane Police.
