Man Scatters Wife's Underwear On North Strabane Highway

NORTH STRABANE (KDKA) --- Women's underwear, in singles and groups, were scattered for more than one mile through North Strabane Township.

"It was everywhere this morning," one woman says.

"I thought someone had lost their laundry," another man says.

However, the reality is anything but humorous. 54-year-old James Klutch is charged with simple assault and violating the protection from abuse order that his wife filed yesterday.

Just before 11:00 p.m., he returned to their home.

"She returned home and found him. There was some kind of an exchange happening and she says he punched her which caused her to lose her breath," Officer Jonathan Miles says.

He left the home taking the entire contents of his wife's underwear drawer.

At 5:40 a.m., he was back trying to get into the home while throwing underwear in the street outside.

Sometime in those early morning hours, he spread the underwear along the highway.

Returning to the home at 8:00 a.m., but left when his wife dialed 911.

He tried returning to the home again late this afternoon.

"He returned and tried to get inside the residence but left and was apprehended a short distance later" Officer Miles says.

Klutch remains in custody tonight. He was arraigned at 8:00p.m.

Klutch admitted that he threw his wife's underwear to get back at his wife.
