Motorcycle Safety Training Course For Teens

A new law has gone into effect that requires 16- and 17-year-olds who are seeking a license to drive a motorcycle to first complete a motorcycle safety training.

Act 84 "requires young riders seeking motorcycle licenses to first complete the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program's Basic Rider Course."

Officials say the course is being offered at nearly 70 sites across the state.

The training is free to Pennsylvania residents.

The new law was signed on July 2 by Gov. Tom Corbett.
