Police Probe Fatal Garfield Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are searching for a suspect following a deadly shooting late Wednesday night in Pittsburgh's Garfield section.

According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, 24-year-old Ronald Somerville of Garfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency officials received the call just after 9:30 p.m.

Police say they found Somerville lying on the sidewalk in the 5400-block of Broad Street. He had been shot several times.

Investigators say the victim had been standing in the area just before the shooting.

According to police, the suspect approached him on foot and pointed a gun at him. There was a struggle just before the shots were fired.

The suspect is described as a tall, African American male who had on a hooded sweatshirt.

He fled the scene after the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.
