Victim, Suspect Identified In Connoquenessing Fatal Shooting

CONNOQUENESSING (KDKA) – The victim has been identified and one man is in custody following a Friday afternoon fatal shooting in Butler County.

According to state police, the shooting happened at a home in the 100-block of Sunset Drive around 4:40 p.m. in Connoquenessing.

Friends who knew the victim said they can't believe what happened. They said there was an argument before the young man was killed.

Larry Karnes, 76, has been arrested after allegedly shooting his grandson Austin Riddell, 19, in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle.

Karnes is currently being lodged in the Butler County Prison without bail.
