STEELERS HUDDLE "Heinz Red Zone Recipe": Tennessee Style Barbecue Chicken

Sauce:

  • 1 cup Heinz Ketchup
  • ½ cup Heinz Cider Vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  • 4 – bone-in ~ skin-on chicken breast halves

Directions:

Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a heavy small pot and simmer for until thickened, over medium low heat, for about 30 minutes.

Preheat grill to medium-high heat on one side of the grill. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste and grill the chicken over the direct heat until golden and crisp on both sides, about 5 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a bowl and toss with 1 cup of the sauce. Transfer the chicken back to the grill, but this time, place the chicken on the side of the grill that is not lit. Cover and cook, basting until the meat glazed and the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees. This should take about 25 minutes.

Serves: 4
