Two People Found Dead After Beaver Co. Fire

BEAVER COUNTY (KDKA) --- Two people who were reported missing following a fire inside of a Beaver County home, have been pronounced dead.

Police say two bodies were burned beyond recognition after responders discovered two bodies inside of a charred home in Beaver County.

"It will just be strange not seeing him anymore," says the victim's daughter Carly Cronin. "We walk all around the block all the time and we come past the house every day."

16-year-old Carly spoke to reporters about her father and his girlfriend who were inside the home on Boyanna Drive in Industry. Both of them died in the fire.

Carly identified her father as Thomas Cronin. Family and neighbors watched at the scene for hours.

"We actually had to have a back hoe come in," says Beaver police officer Ken Stahl. "Because of the extensive damage, they had to dig out a lot of the debris in order to get to the bodies themselves."

Nick Prodonovich, a neighbor, friend and business partner says the couple had just returned home from a trip to Florida.

"He had a back operation and he couldn't make it up the steps," Prodonovich says. "He told me he was going to stay downstairs tonight and he couldn't make the steps. When I come back, that's where they were at."

"There's no concern that there was an addition crime as opposed to the fire itself," Officer Stahl says. "At this point it could be many causes but nothing criminal or wrong."

The Beaver County coroner says it could be days before the names of the victims are released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
