Local Sports Attorney Sums Up Charges Against Steelers Rookie Alameda Ta'amu
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Jay Reisinger, a sports attorney here in Pittsburgh, joined John Seibel and Josh Miller of Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sports Radio 93-7 The FAN to discuss the charges Alameda Ta'amu is facing, what kind of sentencing they could bring, and what actions the league could take.
Reisinger said things sound a lot worse than they actually are because a lot of the charges will be merged for sentencing purposed, but he is still, legally, in trouble.
When it comes to Ta'amu potentially facing jail time, Reisinger said, "I don't see him doing any significant jail time," and laid out the reasons for why he feels that way.
A lot of fans seem to feel like Ta'amu is getting the preferential treatment most athletes and stars are afforded in their opinions, but Reisinger said he absolutely is not receiving any treatment like that given the way the charges were listed, and how many were brought against him.
