Sandusky Transferred To State Prison In Greene County

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- Jerry Sandusky is serving his child molestation prison sentence at an institution in Greene County.

The Corrections Department has announced the former Penn State assistant football coach was transferred to Greene County State Prison after being evaluated at a facility near Harrisburg.

Sandusky, 68, was convicted this past summer of 45 criminal counts for the sexual abuse of 10 boys over 15 years.

SCI Greene mostly houses the state's death row inmates.

According to prison officials, Sandusky will be placed in protective custody because of the nature of his crimes and high profile.

Sandusky says he will continue to pursue an appeal.
