Fans Upset With Officials Following Steelers' Win Over Giants

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Steelers are celebrating another big win, but this one came with some major challenges and not just from the New York Giants.

Fans are outraged by some of the calls made by the referees and a lot of them sounded off on the radio Monday morning.

The hosts of The Fan Morning Show were not shy about sharing their thoughts on the calls everyone seems to be talking about.

"These were bad calls and it made people think that maybe the NFL was actually rigging this thing for the Giants because it would have been a great story. Now, I can't go that far, I can't take that leap to say they would do something like that," Gregg Giannotti said.

"Those calls were horrible, the officiating crew was awful, but to overcome it, I think makes this Steelers victory even more significant," Paul Alexander said.

The bad calls came early on in this game beginning in the second quarter with Ryan Clark being called for a personal foul for a helmet-to-helmet hit.

"He actually, you could see him almost thinking about I have to hit this guy within the rules and he does so and still gets flagged. So, sometimes you just can't win with the officials," Alexander said.

The calls went from bad to worse when Ben Roethlisberger lost a fumble that many considered to be an incomplete pass.

In the end, the Steelers came out on top with a score of 24-20.

Although The Fan was flooded calls about the game, the hosts said it could have been much worse.

"If the Steelers would have lost this game, this would have been not just one day of people complaining, this would have gone on a month," Giannotti said.
