Operation Walk Pittsburgh Helps 4 Local Patients

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - In the hours before Thanksgiving, Tri-State area patients received either a total hip or knee replacement- for free!

It's all part of the 3rd annual Operation Walk Pittsburgh program, and this year patients from Indianola, New Kensington, Penn Hills, and Fayette City and their families will be the beneficiaries.

KDKA-AM's Joe DeStio talks to Dr. Anthony DiGioia, M.D., of the AMD3 Foundation and the Bone and Joint Center at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, for all the details, as well as his trip to Honduras in September 2012, where 53 Hondurans received free total hip or knee replacements.
