Arrest Made After Fatal Aliquippa Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police arrested a man Wednesday in conjunction with a fatal shooting in Aliquippa.

The shooting happened Tuesday and 58-year-old Richard Lincheck of Aliquippa was fatally shot.

Police arrested 46-year-old Lawrence Rains of Center Township in connection with the shooting.

Rains was found around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, against a guard rail on Kennedy Boulevard bleeding "profusely" from the face.

Police say it was a self-inflicted gun wound from a failed suicide attempt.

Rains fit the description of a person of interest from the Lincheck Law Firm and evidence at the scene of the shooting also linked him to Lincheck, according to police.

Rains is currently being treated at Allegheny General Hospital and will be formally arraigned when he is released.

Officials say Rains will likely remain in the hospital for several more days.

He is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and firearms not to be carried without a license.
