Doo Wop Reunion Show Coming Back To CONSOL Energy Center

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Fans of Doo Wop, Motown and classic Rock 'n Roll can take a stroll down memory lane at CONSOL Energy Center Friday night.

The "Doo Wop Holiday Reunion Show" will also feature homegrown favorites, like "Johnny Angel and the Halos" and the tight harmony of a group called "The Softwinds."

Wilkinsburg native James Satterwhite is a lead singer with a group that dates back to 1960.

"I wasn't born when 'The Softwinds' were originated, but I love music," he says. "That's the key, you know. Doo wop harmonies are fabulous; you get to let your talent come out. And our group, we mesh together so well. Our voices know each other, and we just enjoy singing together.

"I was raised, obviously, with the Motown era. The Jackson 5 was my influential group," Satterwhite adds. "We've incorporated that. We do Motown, we do classic rock n' roll, classic doo wop, with a Motown flair."
