The Mayans Say The End is Near, Or Is It?

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - The Mayan long-form calendar ends on December 21, 2012, leading some to believe they predicted the end of the world.

In fact, there are eerie illusions to a spiritual point where three rivers meet in Mayan hieroglyphics that some say represent Pittsburgh being the center of the universe and center of the end of the world.

Is it true? Or did the calendar just end? Or is there even something more to what the Mayans were trying to tell us about a coming age that Pittsburgh could be a part of?

KDKA AM's Larry and John talk to Miguel Sague, a local Taino Indian Shaman, ceremonial leader and chief beike of the Caney Indian Spiritual Circle and Medicine Man for the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center, who is also an expert on the Mayans.

Miguel talks about what the Mayan calendar really says, and why he believes Pittsburgh is one of the most important spiritual positions in the universe.
