Vehicle Hits 2 Pedestrians In Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – At least two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in downtown Pittsburgh Saturday.

It happened before 4 p.m. near the intersection of 7th Street and Liberty Avenue.

One vehicle ended up on the sidewalk after swerving around another vehicle.

"I saw this truck come flying down Liberty Avenue and he hit two girls," witness Mark Fazio said.

Initial reports said the two victims were adults, but witnesses think a child might have been struck.

"He, like, looked like he drove up on the curb, and he hit this little girl," witness Cierra McGee said. "It's just craziness."

The pedestrians were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

On victim is in critical condition, the other is stable.

No word on how many pedestrians were injured.

Police say the driver remained on the scene and could face charges.
