Council To Wait A Week On Parking Meter Decision
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After an hour and a half of heated debate, Pittsburgh City Council voted to delay a preliminary vote on rolling back parking meter enforcement from 10 p.m. back to 6 p.m.
It is set to vote in a week.
Council members said they need more information about its budget impact.
The bill is sponsored by councilman Bill Peduto, who has the support of business operators who came to council to argue in favor of it.
But council president Darlene Harris accused Peduto of playing Santa Claus for political purposes since council agreed last year to keep enforcement hours in place.
Peduto recently announced his candidacy for mayor.
