Tom Cruise To Attend 'Jack Reacher' Premiere On Wednesday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh will play host to Hollywood once again with the "Jack Reacher" premiere on Wednesday.

The premiere is scheduled to take place at the Southside Works Cinema. Tom Cruise, the star of the film, is expected to attend the event.

Before his return to Pittsburgh, he spent some time praising our town in the national spotlight during an appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman."

Letterman: How long did it take you to make this film?

Cruise: About three months.

Letterman: Three months and it was shot entirely in Pittsburgh?

Cruise: Entirely in Pittsburgh.

Letterman: Pittsburgh looks fantastic in it.

Cruise: Beautiful city.

Letterman: And I notice more and more films are using Pittsburgh as a setting, so it must be a great place.

Cruise: It has more bridges than Venice.

Cruise is expected to introduce the film to fans at the Southside Works Cinema. However, the event will be a scaled-back version of what was initially planned.

The premiere was supposed to take place Saturday afternoon, but was canceled because of the horrific elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn.

According to a statement released by Paramount Pictures, there will be no red carpet during this time of mourning.

The filmmakers and Cruise conveyed their heartfelt sadness and their deep condolences to the families during this time.
