Pitt Head Coach Paul Chryst: 'Fun To Be Part Of A Project'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Pitt head football coach Paul Chryst joined the Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to offer an update on his squad's preparation for the BBVA Compass Bowl.

Chryst joked about his players tweeting about Pitt's bowl-preparation practices being early in the morning.

"We should go earlier so they can't tweet," he laughed.

He's thankful that Pitt's bowl is one of the later ones, allowing the team a ton of extra time to practice and grow.

In regards to recent rumors that he might have been a candidate for Wisconsin's recently-filled head coaching job, he said that he's happy to be here because he's found there are often great people whereever you go.

"Every place we've gone there have been great people," Chryst explained. "We haven't arrived yet. It's fun to be part of a project, and doing what we're trying to do here."

He added that counts himself as fortunate to have the support of so many at Pitt and at Wisconsin.

Pitt takes on Ole Miss in the BBVA Compass Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, Jan 5 at 11 a.m. EST, a game that can be heard on 93-7 The Fan.
