Shooting Sends 2 Teens To Hospital

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two teenagers were rushed to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a double shooting in Pittsburgh's Knoxville section.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Rochelle Street and Ibis Way just before 3 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

The victims were found lying on the ground nearby at the intersection of Bausman Street and Amanda Street. They were both taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment.

The teens have not been identified, but investigators say the 17-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left hip and the 18-year-old victim was struck in the chest and back.

The 18-year-old had to undergo surgery and at last check was listed in critical condition. The 17-year-old was listed in fair condition. Both are from Knoxville.

No arrests have been made, and police continue to investigate the motive.
