Home Significantly Damaged In Ross Twp. Fire

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A mother and her autistic son were able to escape a fire Monday night that left their home significantly damaged.

According to officials at the scene, the fire broke out at a home in the 500-block of Fox Drive around 11 p.m.

Flames ripped through the roof at one point and caused a partial roof collapse.

However, the 82-year-old woman and her 54-year-old son were able to escape unharmed.

"We had a good water supply up here, plenty of manpower. Even being that the evening that it is, we had a nice turnout of firefighters to take care of and get the fire under control," Ross Township Fire Marshal John Raubi said.

A total of nine companies responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
