Community In Shock After Sharpsburg Woman's Arrest

SHARPSBURG (KDKA) -- The Sharpsburg community is in shock following the arrest of the former chairman of the Sharpsburg Recreation Board on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage boy.

Susan Sundo, 45, who ran the Sharpsburg Recreation Center, is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Word of her arrest has prompted disgust and anguish throughout the community.

Sundo ran the rec center as a volunteer. She came in contact with a lot of teenagers there. Police are now investigating to see if there are any other alleged victims.

Police in Sharpsburg say she met even more boys through her sons.

Sharpsburg Police Chief Leo Rudzki: "They're friends of her children."

KDKA's Paul Martino: "So there are other kids?"

Chief Rudzki: "Possibly. They haven't been interviewed yet; I couldn't say for sure."

For people who know the family, the accusations have brought them to tears.

"My heart is pounding in my chest and my heart's broken, too," said a neighbor who only identified herself as Deb.

Sundo is being held under $20,000 bond. If convicted of sexually assaulting a minor, she could face a lengthy prison term.
