Pitt Coach Jamie Dixon Pleased With Progress Of Team, Freshman Steven Adams

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Pitt Basketball Head Coach Jamie Dixon joined Starkey and Miller on Sports Radio 93-7 The FAN fresh off his teams 73-45 drubbing of Big East conference rival Georgetown to talk about the victory, and how his team was able to get their first conference win after an 0-2 start.

After Pitt's second Big East loss at the hands of Rutgers, Dixon took his team down to D.C. to get ready for their matchup with the Hoyas where they held some intense practice's which emphasized their defensive aggressiveness.  Dixon reported that he was very happy with the results he saw from those practices as they manifested themselves in last night's game.

Dixon admitted they've only played a half of good basketball multiple times this year, but last night they were able to put it all together, and that's the result he expected to see.

We saw some glimpses of what freshman center Steven Adams can do last night, and Dixon broke down his game and how his comfort level is getting to where they need it to be.

We wrapped things up with Dixon getting his thoughts on the future of his teams rivalries with former Big East foes like West Virginia.
