Man Shot 12 Times At A Bar Dies

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating a fatal overnight shooting in McKeesport.

It happened around 1 a.m. Friday at the Street Stars bar.

The victim was 34-year-old Jayemond Bailey from McKeesport.

Police say he was shot around a dozen times. He was taken to an area hospital, but later died. They also say they've been called to the bar many times in the past.

"There may have been some type of altercation just prior to the shooting, that's part of what we're looking into now," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andy Sherman Said. "There's also a surveillance system in the bar, so we're analyzing that."

At least 20 people were also inside the bar at the time of the shooting, but currently, no witnesses have come forward or provided information to police.

A former McKeesport police officer, Eugene Grimball Jr, who once worked at the bar, tells KDKA two brothers named Tim and Jim Brown own the bar.

Grimball says they are both active in the community, and that Tim works for the boys club in McKeesport, and Jim is the director of recreation for the city of McKeesport.

Police are still looking for a motive and ask anyone with information to call the County Police Homicide Unit at 412-473-1300.
