Malkin: "I Want To Win Stanley Cup Again"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Fresh off a working vacation in his native Russia, Pittsburgh Penguins star center Evgeni Malkin said he's happy to be back in Pittsburgh, and he's ready to hit the ice with his teammates.

It's the first time we've heard from him since the NHL lockout ended.

Malkin spoke public for the first time on Tuesday after two long days of traveling back from Russia. The Penguins' fan favorite says he is ready to roll into this very abbreviated NHL season.

He played in 35 games overseas and put up 19 goals and 40 assists for a plus-19

He pretty much continued what he did last year when he won his first-ever Hart Trophy for league MVP, as well as the Art Ross Trophy for NHL scoring champion.

Malkin appreciates all the honors and awards, but he still only has one Stanley Cup on his resume, and that is his motivation more than anything else as this hockey season approaches

"It's like last season, you know, I have big injury and I come back and play good. But we have great line, but we not win Stanley Cup. I want to win Stanley Cup again," said Malkin. "It's my target right now and we have great team – Flower, Sid, we lost Staalsy, but Sutter come in, and we have really good team; have chance to win."

Meanwhile, TSN has come out with its top 50 hockey players in the world, and the Penguins have the top two. Sidney Crosby is ranked No. 1 for the third year in a row with Malkin right behind at No. 2.
