3 Suspects Sought In Arnold Chase, 2 Others Injured

ARNOLD (KDKA) -- The search continues for three suspects who authorities say bailed from a stolen van in Westmoreland County on Friday afternoon.

Police started pursuing the van after reports someone inside pointed a shotgun at another man on 14th Street in Arnold.

During the chase through narrow alleys, four of the five people inside jumped out of the moving vehicle.

"They weren't using their head too much," said Chief William Weber, of the Arnold Police Department. "You know, there's not much room for air and when you're jumping out of a moving vehicle, and you know, you're hitting the asphalt and rolling, and now the guys that are behind you are kind of dodging you. It's like playing dodgeball with humans and it's not a good idea."

The driver was flown to Allegheny General Hospital. A passenger was taken to St. Margaret's Hospital.

The fifth suspect fled after the van slammed into a garage in New Kensington.

He ran into a nearby home which police later surrounded, but investigators say he got away.
