Arctic Air Sweeping Through This Week

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – More extreme weather is right around the corner.

Arctic air is moving in from the north and will keep temperatures low for steady amount of time.

Over the past few days, temperatures have been steadily dropping and will reach its coldest point around Tuesday.

"There is no more mild air anywhere in sight and there is no normal-looking day temperature-wise for the next seven to 10 days," KDKA's Jon Burnett said.

Temperatures were noticeably lower Sunday, with lots of wind reaching up to 50 miles per hour in some regions.

A winter weather advisory will also go into effect for Mercer County around noon Monday, with lake effect snow expected in the area.

Areas north of Interstate 80 could get up to 3 or 4 inches of snow Monday night and Tuesday.
