Steelers Fans Weigh In: Ravens Or 49ers?

PITTSBURGH (KDKAK) -- Fans of the "black and gold" will face an unhappy dilemma on Super Bowl Sunday.

Another trophy for the 49ers would tie the Steelers' record of six.

And a win by the arch-rival Ravens might hurt too much for some Steelers fans.

Some fans in the Strip District voiced their opinions Monday on who they think should win.

If you're in the market for Ravens purple or 49ers red and gold, try another neighborhood.

But opinions are abundant in the heart of "Steeler Nation."

"San Francisco, because I don't like Baltimore," one Steelers fan said.

"All I know is I like Joe Flacco," another fan said.

Some make their decisions based on players' personalities, especially one player in particular.

"I'd like Ray Lewis to take it home," one person said. "I'd like Baltimore to win it,"

"Lewis, I think's got an attitude and Baltimore, I just …" one fan said while shaking her head.

Sidewalk vendor Paul Dausch says it all comes down to numbers.

"I'm rooting for the Ravens," Dausch said. "It's sacrilege, it's a sin. But the 49ers have five Super Bowl rings and we don't want them to have six."

It would only be the second for the ravens, who received a slight edge in KDKA's unscientific survey.

"We'll go to Baltimore," Steelers fan Larry Stakes said. "My daughter was born there. We'll go with that."

"We have a special place in our heart for Joe Flacco, because he went to Pitt," Pitt Alumnus Scott Blumenthal said.

However, one man's indifference sheltered him from the frustration many Steelers fans face.

"I don't even like football … I'm from Texas," said John Stakes, who says he doesn't care.

Two teams, one family, regardless of the outcome, the winner will be named Coach Hargaugh -- talk about a sibling rivalry.

"Don't think they would talk about it much before the game," Philadelphia resident Daniel Lowe said, "but after the game I think whoever wins might rub it in here and there."

"I'm looking forward to seeing what their parents will be wearing," Blumenthal said. "I think that's going to be as interesting as the game itself."

Possibly no. 6 for the 49ers, or no. 2 for Ray Lewis?

But really, the answer is: Let's Go Pens!
