Cold & Snowy End To Week Can Be Expected

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - It's another very cold day in the Pittsburgh area and things don't appear to be changing any time soon.

Our Wednesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with a flurry or two possible.

Gentle breezes are with us, but it is enough air movement to create sub-zero wind chills, this morning, and single-digit chills in the afternoon.

The actual high will be 15 degrees. Tonight, light snow will leave a coating by morning with a low of 11 degrees.

Thursday will be partly sunny and not as harsh with a high of 21 degrees. However, temperatures will fall back to a low of 9 degrees by Friday morning.

For Friday, a fast moving disturbance will create some snow in the afternoon and evening.

It now appears that amounts will be lighter than originally thought.

A total of 1 to 3 inches for the Pittsburgh area can be expected. High temperatures will reach to about 23 degrees.

The snow will wrap up by Saturday morning with some sun and a high of 25 degrees. Temperatures will continue to climb to 32 degrees on Sunday.
