Police Seek Help Locating Alleged Child Support Thief

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who allegedly claimed hundreds of dollars that were accidentally left at a metal detector at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Friday.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, about $600 dollars, which was meant to pay child support, was mistakenly left at the metal detector.

About 90 minutes later, a man talked to a building guard and claimed to have been the owner of the money.

Several hours later, the real owner of the money showed up looking to claim the forgotten money.

The suspect is described as being a white male in his 30s with brown hair and slight facial hair. He is also about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
