Right To Work Supporters Hope To Boost Economy
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Those members in the Senate and many business leaders who don't agree with the current state laws enforcing compulsory unionism joined together on Tuesday in Harrisburg to reintroduce Right to Work legislation.
Rep. Daryl Metcalfe is the sponsor of the six bill package known as the Pennsylvania Open Workforce Initiative.
He believes the state needs to be freed from the negative effects of the union laws now in order to improve the economy.
"We need Right to Work in Pennsylvania," he said. 'Other states have realized this and Pennsylvania needs to realize it too."
On the opposing side, the President of Allegheny County Labor Council, Jack Shea, supports the work the unions have done for Pennsylvania.
