State Police: Armed Robbery Suspects Get Away On ATV

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- State Police in Fayette County say they are searching for two suspects who fled the scene of an armed robbery at a convenience store on an ATV.

According to state police, the robbery happened Tuesday at Sweet Peas Convenience Store at the intersection of McClellandtown Road and Route 166 in German Township.

Investigators say one of the suspects jumped over the counter and the other showed a revolver.

The suspects demanded money and took cash from the register. They got away with more than $200 dollars, state police said.

The suspects were wearing black sweatshirts, gloves and ski masks.

Authorities say they got away on a red, four-wheel ATV that headed southbound toward Leckrone-Highhouse Road.

The store's clerk did not report any injuries.

Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact the Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-404-TIPS or crimestoppersfayette@gmail.com.

State police say any information that leads to an arrest in the case will be considered for an award of up to $1,000. Also, police say Sweet Peas' management is also offering a reward of $1,500 for anyone that gives information that leads to an arrest.
