CCAC Student Center Closed After Pipe Bursts On Campus

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A week of sub-freezing temperatures is taking a toll on pipes.

One broke on Saturday at the CCAC Allegheny campus on the second floor of the Foerster Student Services Center on Ridge Avenue.

Water trickled down to the first floor and onto the street.

The Foerster Center will remain closed until the mess is cleaned up.

Meanwhile, in Downtown Pittsburgh, part of Seventh Avenue will be closed until Sunday afternoon following a water main break between Liberty Avenue and Smithfield Street.

It happened around 2 p.m.

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority says one business, Monte Cello's Italian Restaurant, is without service because of the break.
