Spring-Like Weather Won't Last, Cold Front To Move In After Storms

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- While the weather will be spring-like today, we're in for a big change on Wednesday when severe storms will usher in the return of colder temperatures.

Weather that is more typical of April than January is with us for a couple of days.

KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman says today we should look for a drizzle in some spots with some persistent fog and temperatures near 60 degrees in the afternoon.

This evening will be cloudy with some fog, an isolated sprinkle and a low of 54 degrees.

Then on Wednesday, a cold front bears down on the area.

Thunderstorms are expected around mid-day, some with gusty winds and heavy downpours. Bowman say we may get close to an inch of rain from these storms.

The high will be about 62 before the storms move in.

Then, winter returns on Thursday.

Bowman says it will be colder behind the front with some light snow possible into Thursday morning and a low of 27 degrees.

We will have to be prepared for icy spots on Thursday morning.

As for the rest of the day, some light snow and flurries are expected with a high of just 32.
