"Buckwild" Cast Member Arrested

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A cast member of the MTV reality show "BUCKWILD" is facing a drug charge in West Virginia.

Twenty-four-year-old Salwa Amin is being held at the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver.

Records show Amin was booked into the jail at 12:50 a.m. Monday. Details of her arrest and the charge weren't immediately available.

Central Regional Jail Administrative Sgt. Rick Drake says Amin doesn't want to talk to the media. He didn't know whether she had a lawyer.

MTV announced last week that the show will be picked up for a second season. A spokesman and a spokeswoman for MTV didn't immediately return telephone messages Monday.

"BUCKWILD" was filmed largely around Sissonville and Charleston.

Before the series even started, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin asked for MTV to scrap the show. Saying that he was repulsed by MTV profiting off of the poor decisions of West Virginian youths.

In January, West Virginia locals were upset with the show, saying that it sends the wrong message.
