Local Green Beret Killed In LA Helicopter Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Greene Beret from Indiana County was killed in a helicopter crash in Los Angeles Sunday morning.
The crash happened as 45-year-old Michael Donatelli, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was filming a Discovery Channel reality show.
Now William Donatelli says that nobody in his family believes that his son won't be walking through the door again.
Donatelli and two other men died in the crash while filming.
The senior Donatelli said Monday night that his family learned of the tragedy when State Police and the coroner came to the house last evening with news of the mishap.
Donatelli leaves his parents, his widow, their five children and a brother and sister.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
