Police Seek Suspect Who Slipped Out Of Police Cruiser In Washington Co.

ROSCOE (KDKA) -- Police are searching for a Washington County man who escaped police custody while he was in handcuffs.

Ramsey Hyslop was arrested at his Arthur Avenue home in Roscoe Tuesday night for possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and prescription pain pills.

Hyslop was cuffed and put in the back of a police cruiser.

But when the investigating officer went inside for five minutes to gather evidence, police say Hyslop was able to somehow move his handcuffs to the front of his body and then shimmy out of a small window to the front of the police car.

"They're [The handcuffs] double locked, so they won't open or close without a key," said Officer Mike Leasure, of the RESA Regional Police Department. "Never in my career have I seen this."

Hyslop ran off and a passerby told police that a man had run from the car.

Police went on a several hour manhunt for the escapee.

Anyone with information on Hyslop's whereabouts is being asked to call police.
