Food & Games: The Blog Comes To Life In TV Form

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- First off, I wanted to wish a happy 3rd birthday to 93.7 The Fan. When I came on with the station a few weeks after it's launch, I was told that in addition to hosting talk shows and doing sports updates, there would be opportunity to write for the CBS Pittsburgh website.

I took that opportunity to launch a column that focused on a premise that covered, highlighted and discussed all thing surrounding the world of tailgating and stadium fare through the vehicle of sports. It was called "Food & Games" and in the past three years, I've written articles in cities like San Francisco, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Nashville and Cincinnati, while also tackling subjects close to home here in Pittsburgh.

The original concept, when it was first conceived 10 years ago, was meant to be a TV show. Well, I can now say that I've made that happen as well. In the fall, West Virginia University opened up Milan-Puskar Stadium to a production crew I formed and with great planning and effort, a TV pilot was shot.

It's with great pride that I present the TV version of 'Food & Games' and I hope for those of you that like it, you spread the word. I'm very proud of this and all the work that many people put into it. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you and let's eat!

John Phillips is the creator of Food & Games. In his spare time, he dabbles as a sports anchor and talk-show host for 93.7 The Fan. Follow the fun of Food & Games on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/FoodAndGamesTV
