Woman To Appear In Court After Fatal Stowe Twp. Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The woman accused of crashing her car, killing an elderly man in Stowe Township, appeared in court Friday.

Police say 52-year-old Jennifer Roedler was driving under the influence when she crashed into a Perri's Produce box truck in December.

Owner of Perri's Produce, 86-year-old Anthony Perri, was in the back of the truck unloading shipments when Roedler allegedly slammed into it, throwing Perri, who hit his head.

Perri eventually died a week later from the injury.

Police say Roedle's blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was more than three times the legal limit.

Roedler has been in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of involuntary manslaughter, DUI, reckless driving, driving n roadways laned for traffic and two counts of homicide.

She was supposed to have a preliminary hearing Friday, but it was pushed back to Feb. 22.
