Levine: Pirates Could Be Wasting McCutchen's Prime
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Bob Pompeani visited with Zachary Levine of Baseball Prospectus to talk about his recent column.
Levine looked at the Pirates off-season moves, saying that while it's hard to be critical of any individual off-season move, it doesn't seem like the Pirates are building towards anything.
Levine said that the Pirates are going to have to add players at the same time as Andrew McCutchen's salary increases.
If they're not proving ready to spend money, Levine said that the Pirates could be wasting McCutchen's prime. Levine also thinks that it's hard to watch the Pirates waste McCutchen's talent and would like to see the club put a quality team around McCutchen.
