Slick Road Conditions Cause Several Accidents Across Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- We may have been spared a rough morning commute, but the freezing rain didn't completely miss us.

In Pittsburgh's Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood, a car slid on the ice at the corner of Lemington Avenue and Luzzo Court and crashed in a pole.

"Started slipping and picked up speed coming down the hill and veered to the right. I hit the pole and stopped," said driver Nicole Morris. "My head hit the window, busted the window and I hit the steering wheel."

A pick-up truck also got stuck on the icy hill.

Ice was also a problem in Squirrel Hill.

A woman driving an SUV on Bellerock Street was left spinning her wheels.

She went up onto the sidewalk and hit some steps.

Salt trucks were called out to the area to help get things moving again.
