Fleury Reacts To Malkin Injury

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Penguins Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury spoke out Saturday about teammate Evgeni Malkin's injury, which will keep him out of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Fleury talked to Bob Pompeani, saying that anytime you lose a player like Malkin, it's a big loss for the team.

"Yeah that's tough, you know, I think he's definitely one of our key guys and one of our leaders," he said. "Every time you lose a guy like that, it's a big hole to fill. And hopefully it's nothing too serious so he can get back on track here soon."

Arguably two of the teams best players, Malkin and Sidney Crosby, have rarely made the lineup together this year so far.

"Together they are really fun to watch," Fleury said.  "... we have to consider ourselves lucky to be able to lose one guy and add another guy."

He also talked about the team's recent win against the Panthers, saying that the team did a good job of helping in the defensive zone.

"Everyone was back in the zone," he said.
