Steve Pederson Reveals How Season Opener With Florida State Came About

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt Athletic Director Steve Pederson was influential in making the Pitt-Florida State season opener a reality and gave details as to how it came about.

Pederson joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller on The Fan and said he didn't think the game was really going to happen until this past Friday because of all the moving parts to this game that had to come together.

"This has been bubbling here for a couple of weeks," he said. "When you want to make a move like this, everybody who makes a decision now affects another game and another game.  I'm guessing that there were probably, at the end, eight different schools that had to move games to make this happen."

Pederson addressed some of the outside influences he may have felt while trying to make this decision and how many people wanted to make this happen.
