Experts Unveil 7 Foods That Help Weight Loss

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Nutrition experts say weight loss starts at the grocery store.

If you're looking to drop some weight fast, here are seven foods that can help.

First is to start your day off with eggs.

Adults who eat just two for breakfast are 65 percent more likely to lose weight and feel more energetic.

They're full of protein, cancer-fighting antioxidants and a vitamin that promotes healthy brain function.

Next up is kale.

It's full of fiber, vitamins and is low in calories.

Lentils are full of essential nutrients, fiber and have an added bonus. They are believed to lower your risk for Alzheimer's.

Next up are hot peppers.

Their fiery kick helps to speed up your metabolism and shrinks fat cells. The hotter the pepper, the more fat-fighting you get.

You really can't go wrong with low-fat or fat-free yogurt, but if you're trying to lose weight, go Greek.

Grapefruit also made the list.

Eating half of a grapefruit before meals may significantly help with weight loss and improve insulin resistance.

It may sound crazy, but the seeds that brought us the Chia Pet may also help with weight loss.

They're packed with protein and fiber.

However, you don't eat an actual Chia Pet. Just add the seeds to yogurt, oatmeal, or smoothies in the morning.
