Police Arrest Man Accused Of Setting Girlfriend On Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have arrested a man suspected of setting fire to his girlfriend earlier this week at their apartment in Springdale.

Clinton Cohen, 27, was apprehended in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland section on Saturday.

According to investigators, Cohen's girlfriend told police that an argument escalated and she was choked, hit and punched in the early hours of Thursday.

Police say she was then doused with a bottle of perfume and set on fire with a lighter.

According to the police report, the incident happened in front of the couple's infant child.

At last report, Cohen's girlfriend, 22-year-old Maria Redman, was in critical but stable condition.

Cohen is facing charges of aggravated assault, arson, criminal attempted homicide and other charges.
