Stanton Heights Standoff Ends Peacefully

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Stanton Heights standoff ended peacefully Sunday, despite the suspect's plethora of weapons.

It started Sunday afternoon at a home in Fairfield Street after a domestic dispute.

In fact, the block where the standoff Sunday took place is the same block where three police officers were gunned down during a standoff in 2009.

Police say the man inside the home Sunday was heavily armed with an array of weapons including semi-automatic weapons, shotguns, hunting knives and even a bow and arrow.

It was suggested that the woman inside the house at the time seek out a Protection From Abuse order.

A PFA was then delivered and the man inside the home came out and was arrested.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
