Black And Gold Sunday: March 10, 2013

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Rob Pratte hosted Black and Gold Sunday at Kuhn's Market with guests John Miller, Jim Colony, Krista Voda, Swin Cash and Ted Arneault.

Pitt Basketball took center stage as Pratte talked to the guests. The Big East Conference is breaking up and Pitt is headed to ACC next year.  They als talked about the probability of the men's basketball team winning the final Big East title this year and future ACC opponents.  Pratte said he is also excited about seeing Duke's Coach Mike Krzyzewski at the Petersen Events Center for many years to come.

Long time Pittsburgh Linebacker James Harrison has also been released by the Steelers. He's been with the team since 2002 when he was signed as an un-drafted free-agent.  Harrison will test free agency after helping the Steelers win two Super Bowls and earning the defensive player of the year award for 2008.  The panel shared memories of the linebacker while he was with the Black and Gold, and pondered his future in the NFL.

The Pittsburgh Pirates continue spring training in Florida and continue to test young talent.  Pitcher Jeffrey Alan Locke has had an impressive performance this pre-season.  Locke has logged two wins so far in spring training and is only 25 years old.  Andrew McCutchen has had a lack luster pre-season, but is projected to have a phenomenal year after being selected as an All Star last year.

Listen to Black and Gold Sunday every Sunday 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
