Shell Thanks Fans Amid Transfer

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - As it was first reported by the 93.7 the Fan's Gregg Giannotti, Rushel Shell is no longer a Pitt Panther.

The university making it official with this release from head coach Paul Chryst:

"Rushel and I met on Tuesday morning and he informed me of his final decision to transfer. I wish him only the best moving forward. Out of respect for Rushel, his family and his privacy, this will be my final comment on the matter."

PantherLair.com's Chris Peak expects Shell to transfer to a Pac-12 school.

"The fans/people out there wishing me the best regardless I really appreciate it and trust me I'm doing what's best for my future thank you!" Shell said in a Tweet today.

Pitt will have a pair of tailbacks returning who played last year, Isaac Bennett and Malcolm Crockett.

The two combined to rush for 191 yards and three touchdowns in limited action.
