Pedestrian Hit In Oakland Dies; Son Of Prominent Judge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A pedestrian who was hit by a driver in Oakland early Saturday morning has died.

The victim is 22-year-old Cody Barrasse, the son of Lackawanna County judge Michael Barrasse and Scranton cardiologist Linda D'Andrea Barrasse, our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

The fatal accident happened Saturday around 2:15 a.m. on Argyle Way. The Post-Gazette reports that Barrasse was pronounced dead at 4:46 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the driver initially left the scene after hitting the pedestrian, but about 10 minutes later turned himself in.

Police arrested him at South 19th and Sarah streets on the South Side.

Barrasse was a senior at Penn State, according to the newspaper.
