Fayette Co. Man Arrested For Beating Girl With Belt
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Fayette County man was arrested Tuesday night after he assaulted his girlfriend's daughter.
Errik Parks, 43, was arrested Tuesday by police in Uniontown on charges of reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment.
He allegedly whipped his girlfriend's 9-year-old daughter with a belt.
Parks is not the girl's biological father.
Uniontown Police Lt. Thomas Kolencik told KDKA-TV News that the girl was brought to the police station by her grandmother, with bruises on her hand, right forearm, buttocks and back.
They were fresh bruises and were consistent with belt markings.
Kolencik said the child abuse resulted from a custody dispute.
The little girl and her brother are in the custody of their grandmother.
