While Ohio Township Police could not say for certain, they’re looking at speed playing a potential role. Nearby, Bellevue police may have seen the vehicle minutes before the crash.
“He believes he saw that same vehicle traveling down 65 and their town was unable to catch up with them. Came through 65 at a high rate of speed. He believes it was the same vehicle but was never able to catch up to it,” Ohio Township Police Corporal Don Manz said.
Meanwhile, Mooney’s death ends an eight-month investigation by New Brighton Police.
They say De’Andre Moon, a star running back at Rochester High School, was shot and killed last year on a house boat owned by Mooney.
